Stream of Consciousness Sunday is a 5-minute brain dump that was started by some blogger somewhere once upon a time and was picked up by one of my favourite bloggers All Things Fadra. She doesn’t do it anymore but there are many bloggers (like my girl Lashawn at Everyday Eyecandy) who keep up with it and I love to read them. Writing for a fast 5 minutes about whatever rolls through your head is a quick and easy way to clear the mind in preparation for a week of work, family, and life ahead. You don’t need a topic, per say, you just need a timer, a keyboard, and your fingers. Also you need for your family not to interrupt you because it feels like cheating when I have to press pause on my timer half a dozen times in a five minute span. Seriously, it’s incredible how everyone can be doing their own thing for hours on end, and the second I need five free minutes someone needs a tablet charged and someone else needs to ask me eleventyfive questions and my phone blows up because the chat group I’m in suddenly decides to start up a conversation. Oh well, that’s what pause buttons are for I guess. Also I’m totally going to go back and edit this for spelling and grammar because I’m a word nerd and I just can’t let that kind of thing slide….
This has been my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…
- Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
- Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. This is writing in the raw.
- Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
- Leave a comment on this post with a link so I can read your SOC Sunday post too!
